Alibaba® logistics centre | Cainiao Liège eHub (BE)

Liège Airport, Aéroport de Liège (LGG), on the outskirts of the city of the same name in Belgium, has developed into one of the most important cargo airports in Europe in recent years. It is intended to handle around 1 million tonnes of freight there every year from all over the world.

In November 2021, the Alibaba® logistics subsidiary Cainiao Network has opened the first warehouse of its European hub in Liège.
The surface of this warehouse is 30,000 square meters, with an office building of 3,000 square meters attached.

Protected with HENSOTHERM® steel fire protection
The building’s approximately 37,500 m² of steel structures were upgraded to fire resistance classes R30 and R60 using 25 tonnes of the solvent-based steel fire protection coating HENSOTHERM® 310 KS. The coating work was done in the period August 2020 to March 2021.
