Fire protection for a rainbow panorama
The ARoS Art Museum in the center of the Danish city of Arhus was designed by the local firm of architects Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen, and is one of the largest art museums in northern Europe. On the roof of the cube-shaped building at a height of 43 metres, the Danish-Icelandic artist Ólafur Elíasson installed the sculpture “Your rainbow panorama”, a kind of walk-in rainbow made of coloured glass, which is arranged in all the colours of the light spectrum. Along a 150-metre circular path, the rainbow panorama with a diameter of 52 metres offers visitors to the museum a unique panoramic view of Denmark’s second largest city in the east of Jutland on the Aarhus Bay.
