HENSOTHERM® Service Transit

Ready-to-use fire penetration seal for cables and combustible pipes

Inside buildings, especially in modern residential and office buildings, a large number of electrical cables run. The HENSOTHERM® Service Transit is an easy to install pre-assembled fire penetration seal solution consisting of a high-density crack-resistant plastic tube containing graphite based intumescent lining of HENSOTHERM® 7 KS Gewebe which expands upon heating to seal spaces or voids around cables and pipes led through it. In addition, a ceramic wool plug placed in the centre of the service transit will prevent the passage of cold smoke and gases.

Penetrating services can be retrofitted without having to install a new penetration seal. After replacing or changing services passing through the HENSOTHERM® Service Transit, the ceramic wool plug must always be adapted to the diameter of the services and re-fitted.

Quick installation without annular gap closure and no additional coating on the cables! The HENSOTHERM® Service Transit can be pushed into concrete, masonry or drywall with a precise fit. Alternatively, the annular gap can be filled with HENSOMASTIK® Acrylic.

The HENSOTHERM® Service Transit is available in diameters of 63 mm, 90 mm and 110 mm to fit common drill bits and can inserted into the construction element with an exact fit, i.e. friction fitted without an additional annular gap seal.

Since individual cables are simply fed through the windings of the ceramic wool plug and no additional fire protection coating of the cables is required, smaller openings for electrical cables can be sealed off quickly and cost-effectively. HENSOTHERM® Service Transit is also suitable as a quick-to-install temporary or permanent fire protection seal for core drillings in early construction phases.
