Renovation of the fire protection coating on the wooden roof embezzles of the wave-shaped roof structure of Hamburg Messe with the HENSOTHERM® 2 KS AUSSEN wood fire protection system.

The roof construction
The cantilevered barrel roofs (segmental barrels) are double-skinned and made of aluminium as the covering material (outside) and wood as the load-bearing element (inside). It is a warm roof construction on wood. The tracks sit on a steel structure (supporting pillars) and arch segments made of white glazed wood, on which 70 mm thick wooden elements were applied.

Due to fire protection, the wooden elements in the outdoor area must be upgraded from a normal to a flame-retardant building material B1 (SBI test, C-s2,d0). The HENSOTHERM® 2 KS AUSSEN wood fire protection system was ideal for use in this environment. The coating structure consists of the HOLZGRUND primer, the HENSOTHERM® 2 KS AUSSEN intumescent coating and the HENSOTOP SB coating varnish associated with the system to protect against the weather.
