Green Product line in steel fire protection
Fire protection coatings are an essential component of passive structural fire protection. They make it possible, for example, to keep attractive steel constructions permanently visible as an architectural design element.
Our steel fire protection coating HENSOTHERM® 421 KS is free of halogens, APEOs, borates, plasticizers and silicones, it meets the requirements of LEED v4, is tested according to AgBB and registered in the DGNB Navigator (3E4MHK).
It is classified in VOC emission class A+ (non-VOC) and has a Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) registered at the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) as EPD-RHG-20190097-IAC1-DE. In addition, it is very well suited for Minergie-(A-/P-)Eco, corresponds to 1st priority Eco-BKP.
Rudolf Hensel GmbH is the first manufacturer of fire protection coatings to officially prove in the European assessment procedure (ETA) that products have a durability and thus a service life of more than 25 years in dry interior areas (Z2). The steel fire protection coatings HENSOTHERM® 410 KS, HENSOTHERM® 421 KS and HENSOTHERM® 920 KS are the first 1K and 2K fire protection systems, with and without topcoat, that can therefore be used for more than 25 years in accordance with the current ETA and aBG, provided they are used properly in accordance with our manufacturer’s instructions.
HENSOTHERM® 421 KS the complete steel fire protection system for ecological and sustainable construction
All components of the steel fire protection system HENSOTHERM® 421 KS are now available in the Green Product line.
The steel fire protection system HENSOTHERM® 421 KS covers a wide range of applications with fire resistance times from R 30, R 60 to R 90. The system is usually applied directly on the construction site. Especially in the case of conversion and/or renovation measures in existing buildings, for example in public buildings, schools or hospitals, this can easily be carried out on site. The product structure is also listed in the Cologne List.

- HENSOTOP WB Green, top coat with VOC 3.5 g/m²*

Note: Even without fire protection requirements, the corrosivity categories up to C3 can be achieved with the products HENSOGRUND WB Green and HENSOTOP WB Green.
